# Jatan Shah Power BI Day 1 Workshop Review

We all know everything depends on data, so upskilling in this field is necessary especially when you come from a data science background. With this similar mindset, I recently attended a 2-Day Power BI workshop by Skill Nation.

The mentor of this Workshop was the CEO of Skill Nation, Jatan Shah. To be honest, when I read some reviews about Skill Nation, I thought when the workshop is headed by the CEO it would surely have high standards and would not disappoint but, as it correctly said “*Expectations always hurt” *You all might have understood what I am trying to say. Yes, this workshop completely shattered all my expectations and wasted my 2-days.

Let’s briefly understand what happened on Day 1 of this workshop.

## Table of Contents

### Introduction

The session started with a brief introduction of the mentor Jatan Shah or should I rephrase it was more of like* “blowing one’s own trumpet” *he kept on praising himself and his company Skill Nation about how many people have got jobs after attending their workshops but, being honest these claims felt too fake according to what I experienced in these two days.

Later He started with the introduction of Power BI and explained how Power BI is one of the most widely used tools for Data Visualization followed by a quick view of the Power BI interface.

### Jatan Shah’s Workshop Content was Too Basic

Being from a data science background I found the content too basic it will surely vary from person to person. He covered some basic topics like how we can import data and discussed some of the visualization charts but we can get all this content on YouTube with much better explanations and with several options that are completely free.

which was followed by live dashboard-making using data provided by them. He claimed that these dashboards could be made by data analysts- worthy but being honest anyone can create such basic dashboards, and at times it felt boring and was around 3 hours long.

### **P**romised Bonus

while joining the workshop they claimed some bonus worth around Rs 16000, but during this 3-hour long session on Day 1, I didn’t think anything could be considered a bonus which made me understand that It was all a marketing trick that literally caught a lot of eyes but again all it gave was disappointment and nothing more than that.

### **L**ess Interactions

Throughout the 3-hour long session, interactions with the audience were not so much like it could have been better as most of the time he was explaining topics which made the session difficult to watch as sitting at a single place for 3 hours is a very long span especially when the session is not so engaging.

### **C**onclusion

This was all about my experience of this Power BI workshop which left me disappointed on its Day 1 itself. Although spending Rs 99 might not be a big amount but wasting even a penny on such a workshop is not worth it and shows us how we should not blindly believe in the fake promise made by them and invest our money or time in this and would rate it a solid **2/5. **
