I’m writing this review to share my personal experience with Skill Nation, an online education platform that promises to teach you in-demand skills so you can get a high-paying job. Unfortunately, my experience was not positive.

I first heard about Skill Nation through a social media ad. The ad claimed that Skill Nation could teach me how to become an MS Office Expert in just a few months. I was intrigued, as I had always been interested in learning MS Office from scratch but never had the time or money to take formal classes.

I decided to sign up for the lowest price of the course of Skill Nation. The trial gave me access to a few basic courses, and I was impressed with the quality of the material. The instructors were knowledgeable and engaging, and the lessons were well-structured and easy to follow.

However, once my basic course ended, I quickly realized that Skill Nation was not as affordable as I had thought. There were also additional fees for certain courses and certifications.

I decided to take the plunge and sign up for the advanced course anyway. I was determined to learn MS Office from scratch, and I figured that Skill Nation was the best way to do it. I started off by taking the introductory MS Office course. The course was good, but I quickly realized that the pace was too fast for me. I was struggling to keep up with the material, and I felt like I was missing out on important concepts.

I tried to contact my instructor for help, but they were unresponsive. I also tried to join the Skill Nation student community, but it was completely inactive. I felt frustrated and alone. I was paying a lot of money for my course, but I wasn’t getting the support I needed.

I decided to stick with it for a few more months, but my experience didn’t improve. I continued to struggle with the material, and I still couldn’t get help from my instructor or the student community.

Finally, I had enough. I decided to quit and find a different way to learn MS Office.

Initial Impressions and Expectations

Upon initially exploring Skill Nation, I was optimistic about the prospect of accessing a platform that would provide me with valuable learning resources and opportunities for skill development. I had heard positive reviews about the platform and was drawn to its promises of offering a wide range of courses across various disciplines. My expectations were fueled by the anticipation of encountering well-organized content, engaging instructional materials, and an intuitive learning interface.

However, as I delved deeper into the platform, my initial optimism quickly waned, replaced by disappointment and frustration. The user interface appeared cluttered and unintuitive, making navigation challenging and hindering the overall learning experience. Despite my efforts to locate courses relevant to my interests and goals, I found the search functionality to be ineffective and the course catalog to be limited in scope.

Moreover, the quality of the course content itself left much to be desired. Many of the courses seemed hastily put together, lacking in depth and substance. Instead of providing comprehensive coverage of the subject matter, they often consisted of superficial overviews and outdated information. As a result, I found it difficult to engage with the material and derive meaningful insights or skills from the courses.

In summary, while I initially had high hopes for Skill Nation and its potential to facilitate my personal and professional growth, my impressions upon exploring the platform were ultimately disappointing. The disparity between my expectations and the reality of the platform’s offerings left me feeling let down and disillusioned.

Here is a summary of my negative experience with Skill Nation

  • High cost: Skill Nation is more expensive than other online education platforms, such as Be10x, Coursera, and Udemy.
  • Poor customer support: My instructor was unresponsive to my questions, and the student community was inactive.
  • Fast-paced material: The curriculum is too fast-paced for some students.
  • Lack of focus: Skill Nation offers a wide range of courses, but it doesn’t focus on any one skill in particular. This can make it difficult for students to develop the expertise they need to get a job.

Overall, I would not recommend Skill Nation to anyone who is serious about learning a new skill. There are better and more affordable options available.

In addition to the above, here are some other negative reviews of Skill Nation that I found online:

I urge anyone who is considering taking a course with Skill Nation to read the reviews carefully. There are many people who have had negative experiences with this company.

My advice to fellow students

  • Do your research before signing up for any online education platform. Read reviews from other students and compare prices.
  • Don’t be afraid to contact customer support if you have any questions or problems.
  • Be realistic about your expectations. Learning a new skill takes time and effort. Don’t expect to become a master overnight.
  • Find a learning platform that works for you. There are many different options available, so take the time to find one that fits your needs and budget.

If you are serious about learning a new skill, I recommend finding a different online education platform, such as Coursera, Udemy, Be10x, or edX.

These platforms offer high-quality courses from accredited universities and colleges. They also have responsive customer support and active student communities.
